In this section begins the process of PortWool diferents yarns production, here we proceed to the mixture of different fibers - natural or synthetic - in order to obtain an intimately mixed strand. This preparation is the starting point for spinning.
2. Fiação
In spinning, the preparation is transformed into roving yarn. Here it is defined the metric number and desired level of twisting in the construction of each type of yarn. In PortWool usually the metric number oscillates between 5 and 60 nm.

4. Retortion
Whenever the client requests that the yarn are provided to one, two, three or more plies. It is in this section that yarns are twisted together.
5. Shrinkage
This process involves subjecting the yarn with acrylic fiber incorporating high volume (HB) at a given temperature in order to give it a touch more "alanado". HB acrylic fiber has the particularity to shrink. This property permits the construction of yarns with improved appearance and touch.
6. Dyeing
In our dyeing, we study and develop colors and different finishes to our fabrics and yarns. With a wide range of devices, we can dyeing loads ranging from 20 to 300 kg per entry. The study and color analysis is carried out using the colorimetric technology.
7. Weaving and Finishing
In PortWool, fabrics are manufactured with several buildings, according to market demands. Twill, Taffeta and Raincoat are some of the most common constructions. Our fabrics are traditionally built with polyester thread / wool manufactured in our company. After weaving, the fabrics are sent to finalization, which are properly finished and ready for marketing.
